Welcome, Stargazers!

The night sky has been mesmerizing mankind for thousands of years. Ancient Greeks and Romans gave names to the shapes stars form in the sky. Renaissance sailors used stars and constellations to navigate the open sea. Astronomers have discovered planets, discounted planetoids, and taken pictures of objects so far away, it's difficult to imagine.

And now, you can join them with your own observations. This webliography is a guide to the various materials that are available to you, an amateur astronomer, to help you study the night sky. There are both printed and web resources listed in an easy-to-follow format, with descriptions and enough information to help you locate the materials online or in your local library. There is also a variety of resources targeted at younger stargazers as well.

So take a look around, explore these resources, and gaze into the past like so many curious explorers have before you! I would recommend starting with Using This Site, but you are more than welcome to skip ahead to the resources.
